Powertrains and Performance

The compact and simple Honda Integrated Motor Assist IMA® system adds power and efficiency with an electric motor. The CR-Z’s 1.5-liter, 16-valve i-VTEC® 4-cylinder gasoline engine combines with an electric motor to provide 122 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque6 (123 lb-ft CVT). Perfect for driving in the city, the IMA’s instantaneous torque at low rpm means quick off-the-line acceleration.

The world’s first 6-speed production hybrid, CR-Z’s sporting credentials include a 6-speed manual transmission – a claim true of very few sport coupes, much less hybrids.

Safety

The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for all occupants. Both seats include active head restraints. During a rear impact, the head restraint moves forward and upward, decreasing the distance to the occupant’s head and helping reduce the likelihood of neck injuries.

Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) helps sense oversteer or understeer in an emergency situation, and then adjusts brake pressure at each wheel and/or reduces engine power to help restore driver control. Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions by utilizing a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

Interior Design and Special Features
